Even if you take a medicine for PTSD, it isn't a cure, it is to better control the symptoms while you use therapy to get control of the disorder. A popular method is DBT and mindfulness techniques. I do not take anything for my PTSD, I do actively go to therapy.

Therapy is huge in PTSD

I do talk therapy and EMDR.. goggle it if you haven't heard of it.

I take the prazosin at bedtime.

I was told the benzodiazepines are not the preferred drugs for ptsd.

I'm sure by now you are on something. Hope you are feeling better

I also have PTSD. I'd say the only meds that help me is Ativan when I'm feeling really on edge. I was put on a low dose of prazosin when I drive (PTSD cause from a semi rear ending me at 65mph). Also used to help nightmares at night.
