😳 insomnia! 1:12 AM

Another sleepless night!! Someone please tell me what I can do to get myself to sleep. It is taking a toll on me and I have not been able to sleep for the past few days. The consequences are horrible, I’m getting these terrible headaches because of it! I have them all day almost and they won’t subside even with OTC medicine. 😢 I can not sleep through the day, it worsens my headaches and makes me feel sick. I have always suffered from insomnia but not this bad. I don’t know if all my stress and everything I’m going through could be adding on to it. One thing is for sure though, it has never been this bad. I feel like I’m going to have a panic attack because I can’t sleep and I was reading online that sleep deprivation can be detrimental to the health. I feel sometimes as if I were a hypochondriac. I just need some sleep!!

That is awful!! Being unable to sleep and dealing with the tiredness is one thing, but to have a headache on top of it, I’m sorry!

I’ve been drinking bedtime herbal tea before bed and reading something simple to make me doze off, or at least make me more relaxed.

You can try:

ASMR

Calm nature sounds

Lighting candles like lavender in your room

Tea

Stretching/message sore muscles

I do/did these things while not on medication to help me wind down after getting home from work at 11:30pm. Nowadays I don’t have much of a problem falling asleep (takes me around an hour), my problem is getting up. I have some crazy fatigue in the mornings...trying to figure this one out.

If I can think of anything more, I’ll let you know!

Thank you so much I would love to try the sounds. I love having a fan on, and can fall right asleep with just the noise of the fan but the weather is so cold my husband makes me turn it off jajaj

And I would love to try the ASMR or the calm nature sounds but my husband can have absolutely no sound or he complains he can’t sleep. We are the complete opposite. He says he deals with my fan and night light enough already! Jajaaj 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

That’s tough, but I understand when you have to consider your husband!

If you have earbuds/headphones, sometimes 15-20 min of just listening to asmr or other sounds may help, and maybe then your husband won’t mind!

Oh! I also take some slow, really deep breaths, hold them for 4 seconds, and exhale through my mouth, letting my body deflate. If your husband doesn’t mind the slight heavy breaths, give 3 or 4 of them a go!

I’m going through the same thing. I pray, I try not to force it. I do my best to be patient and not be upset... it’s extremely frustrating. Start to lust of the many things your are thankful in your head. I recently started to pretend to write with my hand in the bed all the things God has blessed me with... I try not to take OTC’s. I take a melatonin here and there. I’m praying for you, know you’re not alone on this. I’ve been struggling with this for months

Do not eat late, If you have supper have that about three hours before sleep

I listen to music for about 40 mins before bed. You tube will after a time draw up programs of fifty songs you like. I have been doing this now for quite some time They have made up five lists of different music I enjoy. That is in part several ways I use

Some AD Medications can act as a Sleeping tablet, take your medications one hour before sleep, have a small glass of milk with them, this will prevent the tablets upsetting your tummy
