Hi, anyone taking citalopram feel it works quickly but makes anxiety worse? I had panic attack and hated the feeling I felt which I knew was from the tablets, I'd only been on them a week .

Hey there , when I first got diagnosed with anxiety and depression I was put on 10 mg citalopram , but I can say for me it took very long to have an affect on me . It took about 8 to 10 weeks of treatment . Then it all worked fine for me until my body got used to it after one year . My doctor put my medication up to 20mg , and I started to feel wore . Now I decided myself that I don’t want to take them anymore , they don’t make me feel well , they numb me and I feel like I have no sense of humour at all anymore ... its a struggle everyday but I try cope :) most days I still spend in bed

Apparently meds “poop” out after being on them for ages. I don’t think mine are working anymore been on lexapro for 10 years. I wouldn’t be on here if they were working properly. I really want to know how I feel off meds. Withdrawals are horrendous so I hear.
