I've ruined Christmas.

Hi, I've ruined Christmas, and I feel really bad now. Because of my ever-changing moods I've made the holiday for my family and my boyfriend. And I don't even know how to fix it. Now I can't stop crying and can't calm myself down. Now I'm feeling really empty and sad.

sorry to hear that its early days you can make this right.take some time to relax on your own and gather your thoughts.when you start thinking clearly again say sorry like you mean it and hopefully put it behind you all.

take a time out and calm down explain in a rational way that your finding things tough I hope they listen and realise your struggling.

Get yourself together, give a sincere apology with no tears. That’s the best you can do. Are you seeing a therapist and a doctor?

No, I don't.

Oh why not? I was in a state of extreme emotions and got on Lexparo, stopped my crying spells within a week.

Because I'm afraid of doctors and pills. I'm in a state where I know I need help, but I' too afraid to ask for it.

It sounds like you really need help or you will lose your close relationships. I hope you choose to get help.

holidays can be very emotional....and we have to remember it's not all about us, it's about everyone coming together, and if someone is in a bad mood, or makes a remark that hurts someone's feelings....clear the air....and make amends.... sometimes we have to get out of our own head and out of our own way and see the bigger picture....if these people welcomed you into their home and were nice to you....make an effort.... we all make mistakes.

Hi please don't use such emotive language such as 'My boyfriend hates me'. It isn't true and is not helpful to you at all. If he hated you he wouldn't be with you. I am sure his parents don't either.

I am sure you didn't ruin anything for them - maybe put a damper on it but you haven't got the power to determine how others react. If that had been me I would have been concerned you were upset and wondered how I could help you but I would still have enjoyed myself regardless.

Don't put yourself down or think you know what others think and feel is my advice. You will get help if it gets worse but it will take longer to start to feel better the longer you leave it. On the other hand it might just run it's course and go. You might have to make the choice which is worse - the anxiety or the treatment for it. x
