So this morning was pretty rough. Lots of dizziness, hot flashes and clammy cold moments, general restlessness and inability to concentrate, feeling like I couldn’t get going, couldn’t sit still, couldn’t find peace... shaky hands and body, clenching teeth and gastrointestinal symptoms. I tried to do my homework and couldn’t think. It filled me with unease and the desire to poop. 😂 The worst of my side effects didn’t pass til after noon. Eventually I was able to sit down and focus and found myself feeling much better physically. Hoping tomorrow my side effects continue to improve!

SSRIs Day 4
I had a similar experience when I tried lexapro about a month ago. I did not like the way it made me feel and stopped after 4 days (after calling my doctor). Yes some people say the effects subside but for me it caused more anxiety. I don’t know if this is your first time trying an SSRI but for me it was too much and I decided to try different alternatives
What medication are u on?
Tamka I’m on 10mg citalopram for a few more days, then bumping it up to 20 mg daily
Hey!
When I started Lexapro 2 years ago, I went through the same thing. Your doctor should have told you that you might experience increased anxiety for a few weeks. Just what we need, more of what we are trying to get rid of. I think I also made it much worse because I really didn't want to take medication, so just putting the pill in my mouth made me more anxious. I also had a lot of nausea. I promise you, if you can stick it out, these side effects will go away. I didn't think they would, but they did. Did they give you any kind of benzo to help with the anxiety until the SSRI kicks in? I will be praying for you. Hang in there.
I seriously just woke up in a panic. I hope I adjust too.
I am going through the exact same thing right now! I feel the symptoms you are describing as well as muscle stiffness and significantly increased anxiety. I’m on my 3rd day but really want to push through and keep taking so it can have a positive effect. Hope you’re feeling better!
