Okay... I did it! I didn't freak out (too much 😁). It was a very interesting experience. The acupuncturist was really nice and open and really listened to me for a bit (almost like an extra therapy session for the week!) Then she explained everything as she did it. I shared about my health anxiety and how I feel every little thing in my body. As she put the needles in, she would warn me if it was a more sensitive spot or such. I had them in my face, top of my head, ear, hands, wrists, knees, and top and bottom of foot. I did have some odd sensations (some tingling, fullness, numbness) but it went away quickly. Then suddenly I started to shake pretty badly and feel really anxious. She calmly talked me through this and said it was totally normal. I then started to cry uncontrollably for about 2 mins. Then suddenly it was like my entire body relaxed. I laid there for 20 mins and I had to keep moving my limbs because my body felt so relaxed and heavy it was a foreign feeling for me (since my body is always so tense). I felt a bit lightheaded after but came home and on her advice-ate something light, drank some room temperature water, and took an Epsom bath. I now feel slightly sore all over like a good work out, pretty calm, and very tired. I will do another post tomorrow on the after effects. Sorry this is long, I just wanted to share in case anyone is on the fence about trying this! So far I am really sold on this!

Acupuncture experience. Sorry such a long post!
Wow, it sounds like the treatment released much of your anxiety! You'll probably sleep well tonight. I'm looking forward to hearing how you feel tomorrow.
Fingers crossed! I'd love an actual full night of sleep! Hope you are doing well teemo1!
Me too!!
Thank you!! Sounds so interesting!!
I'm commiting to trying it for at least once a week for a month to see how it goes then reevaluate! I'll keep everyone posted on my experience!
That sounds wonderful. Good for you. Let us know how it goes and I feel like you have a good nights sleep ahead of you!
She told me that too!!! She said anything cold is harsh for our stomach to digest! She also told me it would get easier and less intense as I come more since my body would be more balanced. 🤞🏻
Update- morning after. I do not think it helped me fall asleep better last night I was still wide awake until pretty late BUT once I fell asleep I feel like I slept really soundly.... I have been having really graphic dreams lately and I get up multiple times a night usually and last night I slept the whole night with no dreams. I feel really refreshed this morning. I am still slightly sore all over but nothing major just like if I had a good workout yesterday. Now for full disclosure- I did feel slightly like I had the flu for a few hours last night- I was chilled and achy. Almost felt feverish. But she warned this may happen. Also I did have some stomach issues last night but these could have not been related as I was already feeling odd from lunch yesterday but wanted to be fully open on the experience. Also just a disclaimer of course everyone's body's will react totally different just thought I'd let you all come along on my journey! 😁
It sounds like a great experience and that it works well for you. It helped me too xxx
I absolutely love acupuncture. It is my weekly best moment as far as tranquility goes. Glad you're feeling positive about it. I've been trying to give it the kudos it deserves for anxiety. It has helped a lot of people with opiod and PTSD problems as well. The US Army has been experimenting with it and has been fairly successful. For anxiety, I've felt good for several hours and beyond, but I'm still going weekly to see if the benefits can extend.
