Any suggestions on how to refocus at work when you just keep trailing off and have no interest in your tasks?

Not to sound trite, just want to put this out there, they call it work for a reason...and if you can find any joy in it, it would be from having pride in what you can accomplish...whether it's because your doing the most important job in the world or washing floors....it's all in your attitude and how you approach what you do. If you take self pride in each task, knowing that your doing your best and getting paid to do your best, then in my opinion, that is what builds character and self worth....
Yes...it's a job.... and it's why it's not called play...because your working for your money so you can enjoy some kind of independence and have a life. I hear over and over here about how people hate their jobs, ...who doesn't. And if you were one of the very few who enjoys what they do...it's still a job and work at some point.
Thank you. I enjoy my job and take pride in it, but most of what you say is easier said than done when battling a major depressive episode, anxiety, and another debilitating disorder.
do you have any holidays to take just to get a break and recharge yourself.im sorry you are having a tough time just now I hope your getting support.if you had to lose your job things could become much worse.maybe one or two evenings a week you could take up a new hobbie or get back into something you liked before just so you have other things to look forward to.
Yeah, those are all good suggestions. I just took a couple days for exams and have another couple next month for finals. Thankfully some holidays are coming up, too. I should def try to find time to do something I enjoy, though.
your absolutely right when dealing with depression and anxiety it does make the job much harder, and I do apologise for miss-reading the post, as I didn't know you were talking about dealing with depression and the job, just didn't have enough info.
No worries. I didn't put a lot of details in there. :] You made all very good points though, otherwise.
