I’ve been having a hard time with depression lately and panic attacks and functioning at work has been really hard. I don’t feel like doing anything, or talking to my coworkers. And then I panic and have to run off to the bathroom or someplace to be alone to calm down for a while before I can come back.
I spend most of my time working with the public which in one way is good because it helps distract me but also hard because I always have to be “on”.
Does anyone have any helpful tips for working while depressed?

Dear Snbreen91, consider yourself as an eternal immortal powerful bright star with thinking and decision powers at the centre of your brain. You are peaceful, Loveful, joyful, happy, Knowledgeful, and pure soul. You see through the eyes, listen through the ears, Speak through your mouth, and operate your body through your brain. Body is your car and you are the driver. Brain is your control room and you are master controller and perceiver. Repeat this and be self aware. Throw away body consciousness and become son of GOD, The Supreme !
Now you are ready to link the self with the supreme almighty. GOD is also a brightest star with mind and intellect residing in his peace world beyond sun moon and stars. He is ocean of love ocean of peace Ocean of plasure Ocean of hapiness Sun of knowledge Ocean of purity, might and light.
Study this repeatedly and realise the supreme almighty who is Our most beloved supreme father Supreme teacher Supreme preceptor Supreme friend and lover. Receive power from him to be powerful.
Snbreen 92, I have been there and I completely understand. I am really proud of you for recognizing that you need that moment alone to regroup. It is ok to have to step away for a few minutes. For me, minimizing caffeine and also keeping encouraging notes in my pocket helped me. I tried to not "run away" if I did not have to, but did if it was completely necessary (for emotional reasons). The notes encouraged me of something that made me smile (random memories and facts). I really hope this helps. You are so strong and I know you can grow through it!
As a fellow anxiety sufferer and introvert, I completely get it! I am working hard to learn coping techniques as well. I did find transitioning to remote worker employment a life-saver for me. This doesn't solve the over all problem but it certainly put me more in control of who/when/how I am exposed to others. Which has been my biggest hurdle. I hope you find a solution because sustaining that heightened "mode" can take a toll. Be kind to yourself!
