I draw the line when someone mistakes a severe depressive episode for just being lazy period. Lazy to me is being happy as a pig in a poke stuffing your face with chips and ice cream, and laying on the couch playing video games day and night....of course I'm looking directly at our live in son while typing this.

People should think of depression the same way they consider any illness. People would not say that someone who has the flu is lazy.

being lazy is a choice being depressed isn't that's the way I see it.

I have suffered from depression and can make myself do things I don't want to do. For example, go to work, go to the gym, walk the dog, etc. Even though I may not feel like doing it I still make myself. I think being lazy is completely different. Depression is a mental state and not a choice.
