TMS Therapy

Does anyone have any experience with TMS therapy? I'm waiting for insurance pre-authorization, and am hoping for some insight and personal experience anyone is willing to share...

I had it several years ago. It really did help at the time. The depression was really bad then, to the point I kept saying to the therapist and doctor I needed to go to the hospital. They wouldn't send me and then I started cutting. I had to do something. So they started me on the TMS therapy. It was hard having to go five days a week but I was able to work it out around my work schedule. We have at times thought I should go in for some booster treatments but I haven't done that.

Hi, I had theta burst TMS and not only did it not work for me, it made things worse. I know it's very helpful for a lot of people, but it made me fatigued to the point of barely being able to move, and took months to recover from. Maybe it was because I went through such an aggressive treatment protocol, but I think it's important to know that it can have side effects. At the time I was taking mirtazapine, I'm now taking pramipexole, which seems to be the most helpful thing I've taken so far, but I'm still searching for the right combo to get back to functioning normally.
