Feeling of burning when waking up from a nightmare

Hello. I have been having more and more nightmares recently. Last night, specifically, I woke up from a nightmare and it felt like my body was on fire and I had a bit of trouble breathing. I think the feeling only lasted a few seconds but it has been happening every time that I wake from a nightmare recently. Also, when I wake up, I feel very anxious. I’m scared of the dark corners in my room. And i’m scared of falling back asleep because I don’t want to go back to the nightmare and have that burning pain again.

Do you know what causes the burning pain when waking from a nightmare? Please help me.
