Depressed morning

My past continues to hunt me. And Im tired of trusting people and putting hope and support into people who just genuinely don't care, no matter how hard I try to get them to support me. How do I get over this feeling of just annoyance and shame and sadness?

Hi I understand what you are saying. Maybe these people are looking for others to support them? Don't forget it has to be a 2 way street as people make friends to share things and because they get on. Everyone has their own problems and it has to be mutual support.

Maybe not mention your illness to those you are trying to befriend? Just talk about it with loved ones or very good friends. I have no one in real life to talk about it much with so don't and confine myself with coming in here and sharing.

Are you getting any medical help and/or counselling? x

Well it's obviously up to you whether you want to seek medical help or not. It is available and often effective especially counselling. x

Hypercat54 has some great advice. One thing that I would add is that you could also look to see if there are any support groups in your area for depression and anxiety (if you are suffering from any of these). I go to a few and they are helpful. They are peer led (no professionals) just others that share what they happen to be struggling with at the time. There is no cost and is an opportunity to make some friends.

People aren't perfect. They will let us down. We can't control what other people think or do. We can only control ourselves. Hang in there. 😊

Thank you 💖

We all have done things in our past we regret. It is important to work through and process the emotions and then move on. Journaling your emotions can be one outlet. It is hard to share and trust people but we need relationships. We weren't created to function all alone. However people don't automatically receive trust, they have to earn it.
