Does anyone know of any grants or aid to help get some counseling? I have hit rock bottom the past couple of weeks and its gotten concerning to the point my friends and family think i should get some sort of counseling, but the problem is that it is so dang expensive.

I don’t know if you are on insurance or not, but I know that my dads place of work who I have insurance through, gave me my first ten sessions free and a friend of mine had that option as well and some therapists understand your poor and will keep coming up with reasons for you to get another ten sessions free which is why when you call for the free ten sessions you have to be very specific about what’s going on so you can bounce from one thing to another for why you need therapy, so maybe see if your place of work has this option (when I worked at tj maxx they offered assistance to mental health support) or your parents place of work

I don't know if you are working or not. but state Medicaid (Medical if you are in California) does pay for Behavioral Health services. My son uses both a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist. it is based on income, so even if you are working ,there is a chance you could qualify. Also there is a great organization that provides free counseling advise and can refer you to providers in you area, that may have a sliding scale based upon patients ability to pay. FOTF Counseling Line 1-855-382-5433. Hope this helps. Prayers

Where I am they don’t have insurance for behavioral health services and trying to find some way to pay for any kind of help is just too much but thank you for the advice

It wouldn't hurt to check with the county. You might be surprised what you might qualify for. Never hurts to look into it, if all else fails then you gain information that you might be able to pass onto someone else.
