When we’re anxious our body and muscles tighten up, because our physical body is preparing to meet a threatening challenge that really is not there -- and they become tense and stressed. This can cause all kinds of physical symptoms, including chest pains and a feeling of "heaviness" in the chest.

A couple of quick countermeasures are slow, deep breathing and letting go/going limp:

Hope this helps!

Im not going to do that, because i have fully diagnosable anxiety disorder, asthma and heart disease. For real.

If your blood pressure and ekg are normal, then maybe your chest pain is anxiety. Another sign of angina can be pressure or tightening in the center of the chest.

A full work up that includes a visit to a cardiologist can't hurt. After all I went through last year with full diagnoses I don't believe in psychosomatic, at least in my case.

chest pain is no fun. chest pain is one of anxiety symptoms and the cause of our physical symptoms is from the adrenaline rush we get when we are going thru a bad/anxious time. I've just been put on beta blockers and they are helping. sounds weird I know. was having nausea, shaking, chest pain, sweating and headaches. GP uses these tablets to block the adrenaline. my symptoms have lessened. there is side effects but i've been ok. it does make your heart rate lower so sometimes i get a bit dizzy. Doctor also increased my antidepressant which helps with my general anxiety disorder as well. Hope that helps (sorry for the essay) 😆
