Improving

I've been struggling for over 4 months with my depressive symptoms and have tried so many different things to help myself. Most recently I started acupuncture and I think it is really helping. Last week, I also thought how tired and fed up I am with feeling this way and I told myself I wouldn't allow the depression to take over my life. Since then, I have felt increasingly better everyday. Has anyone done that before, refuse to let the symptoms rule your life? I also wanted to thank everyone again for their contributions to this wonderful support group. It has helped me tremendously on some very difficult days. Wishing everyone a good day🌼🌻🌹💐

That’s so great!! You’re positively is amazing. I love it! I NEED it today! Your post made me smile. Thanks 🙏🏼

So glad it works for you. I needed some inspiration today and because of you I forced myself to drive to the grocery store and shop. My driving anxiety has been kicking in big time. So far it's a battle between which thoughts are winning---the positive and negative.

Now YOU'RE the inspiration! So proud of you for pushing yourself today. You CAN and WILL beat anxiety. Just remember that it's YOU in the driver's seat... YOU!💕

Wish I could say I pushed myself to do more...laid on the couch for longer than I wanted to do. Also surfing the net instead of doing housework. It's a process, right?

Thanks for the update! I hope you have a great week.

I think acupuncture did help my daughter with depression and anxiety.

Well done! N yes I decided long ago. "This illness will not define me". It's become a part of my life but, not, the whole. Best wishes😊🌻✌️

Yes IheartDogs! I do that all the time because fighting is easier than suffering for me. I’m so happy for you and proud of you for taking charge! Keep chipping away at the crud. You’re also giving good advice! Sending you happy thoughts! 🌞🌷🌞

Hi IheartDogs,

I heart dogs too!

Yes I have done that- decided that I wouldn't let anxiety/depression ruin my life. That attitude and the belief that it's possible is a huge part of moving into recovery I believe :) Am so happy to hear you are doing better!

PS having a dog helps, too - fact :)

What a great news, IheartDogs, it gives people home,.. that we can do it, if we put our mind to it. I could be wrong, but for me anxiety symptoms is easier to "ignore" if it is not too bad...and not let your life to be ruled by them. With depression it is more difficult, in my opinion, because everything is gloomy ...you are like in some kind of fog of negativity. So i would be really interested how practically you deal with those symptoms? thank you

Hi morenews, thanks for your response. Well the way I deal with the depressive symptoms is to get outside, be near nature. I'll also exercise, meditate, push myself outside of my comfort zone. Do you do any of these? I'm praying that my symptoms continue to lessen. Mind over matter. I believe that we can all beat these awful feelings if we commit to doing so.
