I've been depressed and anxious so long I wonder if I'll ever be myself again. I so badly want to feel better, but no matter how positively I try to think, I still have that terrible feeling. I go to the doctor Friday. Maybe she will change my meds. I just need a little hope that this will get better.

hey you can do this and im sure you will do it.if you knew some of the things I suffered from and others on here you would have definite hope.going to the gp on Friday will release a lot of your fears lets hope it puts you in a better place.
Hi, I know how it feels to want to go back to who you were before you started dealing with these issues, but I think it's more about embracing this new creation of yourself because you are evolving. Trying to go back to your old self is like a step backwards in getting better, so I think that if you at least try to embrace this new version of yourself, you will break your cycle of negative thoughts and be reborn in a sense. You just have to believe in yourself and trust that you can do this. The only way after you fall down is up, so try to take some steps up. I have faith in you. We are in this together.
Hi. I just joined this group and I saw your message. I am very sorry for your constant feelings. No one understands until they go through this as well. This is a silent disease that eats your soul and takes your joy. No one can see the way we suffer. I am taking effexor which doesn't take away my depression, but it does help with my anxiety. Without it I have constant sobbing and I can't function. Maybe you can give it a try? Hang on until Friday 😊
Modern medicine is advancing at an astounding rate and our understanding of psychology grows every day. If there isn't a solution for you now, there will be in the future. Don't lose hope! If you've only tried one medication than there's absolutely a chance that there is another one out there for you (also if you haven't been on the meds for more than a few months, give it time. It's taken mine several months to start working).
