Good Morning Family! I hope you all have a great day.
Question: What are some things that have proven to work for you to calm your anxiety down before you start your day?
I wake up with anxiety because of all the challenges that directly impact people that I face day to day on my job. I am always pressed on meeting expectations and exceeding people's expectations.
Not sure what today holds, but I use self-talk and I watch gospel sermons on youtube...and pray. What works for you?

Good Morning to you & I wish you the same! I try to focus on the positive..as it breeds positive!!! I know what a challenge it can be though! How about music? I love to go out & garden also, you may not be into that! Do you have any hobbies to do? For me staying busy is helpful also! Nothing but the best for you my friend!!! Love & Hugs!!! XXX
Thank you! I try and suppress that anxious feeling with positive thoughts but boy is it a beast. Music helps. I listen to some of my favorite gospel songs on my way to work and I feel empowered to conquer all of my demons after doing so...at times. My favorite hobby is sewing. My husband and I just relocated and our place is smaller so I had to put a lot in storage. Once we move to a bigger place and I get my sewing table and all of my sewing equipment out of storage I plan to sew again. Oh, how I love to look at a finished product.
Thank you so much for your continued support. I look forward to speaking with you and I hope you have the best day ever!!
Boy I would love to be able to sew!!! Pillows are about as far as I can get, hahahaha!!! I'm here for you & always will be!!! Yes it's a huge challenge!!! We can do this together!!! Throwing joy your way! Love & Hugs!!! XXX
when I feel anxious or nervous I concentrate on my breathing. When people annoy me and I can´t snap, I focus on my breathing... that helps me. Check this video on you tube, look for this title: "Stop Anxiety | 4-7-8 Calm Breathing Guide". Hope it helps.
I don't do this as much as I should, but I read the Bible sometimes and it always centers me. Even if it's not passages related specifically to anxiety or things like that, it still is powerful to connect me to a bigger story and remind me what I'm a part of. Also podcasts are great if you need to just avoid thinking!
I personally like to spend some quiet time reading motivational books, as well as reading a passage of Bible too. I also listen to music that will pour into my soul and have a playlist of upbeat songs. I also pray. Beyond the spiritual side, I have practical things that help. Eating a healthy breakfast helps (I do oatmeal, fruit, and chia seeds). Fresh air is a must for me, as I'm in an office in front of a screen or in meetings all day, too. I find that taking short breaks and just walking the building helps ease anxiety. When all else fails, I use the following technique: I look at people and imagine I am virtually superimposing an animal or insect head on them, according to my mood or their personality. It eases all tension and anxiety and unless I burst out laughing, it works because I can just smile and laugh to myself and no one is wise to my technique. lol
