Will I ever feel normal again?

Has anyone out there ever been in SSRI/SRNI for over a couple years and come off them and feel like their old self? Just curious to know if I have any hope.

Can anyone actually quantify what their normal self was in an honest unbiased light from years ago? People grow and change. Even without medicine. I don’t think it’s helpful to look back and want to be what you were. You have experienced more of life since then. Change is inevitable.

Hi!

I’m not sure that there is such a thing as, “normal.” Especially for those of us with mental health issues. I felt better when I came off Abilify. I felt more engaged in life and others, but it was not long lasting as I ended up in the hospital. I am on an SRNI currently and personally, wouldn’t dream of coming off. I am unable to take SSRIs as I have vivid hallucinations as a side effect. Be very careful and alert to changes in your behavior/mood. Good luck!!
