For 20+ years Prozac worked very well for me. A few years ago my long time GP became fed up with our national medical insurance situation and opted for early retirement. Since that time I can find NOT ONE single doctor to write a monthly prescription for a flat reasonable fee. I have no history of addition or suicide. Any doctor I call will not see me for less than $150. Ridiculous. THUS - at 46 years old, I haven't seen a doctor for a physical in over 15 years. I would be far more productive in society if I could get a job, work, etc. I find my depression to be a mystery in that my current depressive episode started for no valid reason. I don't know how long it will last.... Food is tasteless. Life has become an endless sea of ....gray nothingness. I even tried finding a physician online for a flat fee to simply write a prescription for Prozac or Effexor....you would think it would be simple - as these are anti-depressants rather than narcotics. I joined online program that I found through USAA - paid $40 only to find out that they don't treat any patients in the mental health range. I find it frustrating, and my children and husband are probably beginning to wonder if they are ever going to get their wife and mother back. Why our country can't effectively solve our health insurance issue is amazing to me.

Wish I could buy an insurance policy to pay for prescriptions only!

I am so sorry your going on that merry go round. It's just shameful governments are letting people such as yourself fall through the cracks. The health care system everywhere has gone to hell when no one is getting any help really. I hope someone here has found a solution to what your situation is, and can pass it alone your way. Keep posting about it, put it short and sweet on another post....where has anyone found affordable health care help..
Hello
I don't know if this will help, but some doctors will prescribe, say, a renewable script for 12 months of meds after you have seen them, say, twice, so they can make sure you are doing okay on them. Then after that, you can save money by using a Canadian pharmacy (Northwest Pharmacy), or group called Blink, of all things, 🙂, that is free to use. You can look up your meds and often their prices are very good. You can also save money going to Goodrx site and comparing prices. Hope that helps a little. Best wishes
