Toss and turn and so on.....

Even with the meds (hydroxyizine and xanax) my doc told me to take before bed I still toss and turn all night long. I don't stay up, I'm able to go back to sleep, but I'm waking up 10-15 times a night. I'm exhausted because I don't get any rest. Does anyone one else face this? I've not received a formal diagnoses from my doctor yet aside from depression and anxiety and probably ptsd . She is still working with me to pinpoint the source to decide if I have PTSD and severe GAD or if I'm just needing to reset my nervous system. This sucks.

I have always woken up nightly multiple times and had a very hard time just getting to sleep at all. Mine was CPTSD related. I take Zimovane, and have no drugged out feeling the next day, just a good nights sleep. May want to talk to doctor about finding a better med to help you sleep.

I'm going to definitely talk to her when I go back. This is the first one we've tried. I mentioned that I was having nightmares and she started me on the hydroxyzine. Hopefully we can find something that works better for me.

you know, funny thing, I used to have a lot of nightmares too, it drove me nuts, part of the reason I would wake up was to stop the dream. I don't have nightmares very often on this Zimovane, but I actually did have more nightmares with a night time anithysamine I was taking. So you may want to talk to your doctor about any side effects from a potential sleep med.,, some meds do effect our dreams oddly enough.

I had this issue a little over a year ago; both waking up a lot and nightmares. I would either wake up randomly or bc of the nightmares or sleep through the nightmares but either way I was exhausted even more than normal. I have an addictive personality so I try to stay away from pills. I started eating Melatonin gummies about 20 min before bedtime and that helped. Sometimes I felt a bit groggy in the morning but I also got some Vitamin D gummies that helped with that. And they are yummy :).
