I decided to deactivate all my social media and that is why I have joined this group I feel like social media can play a role in feeding ur anxiety and become toxic for ur thoughts

I did the same thing I logged out of my social media bc it does feed into my anxiety I believe a good cleanse from distractions helps with anxiety!
Yes I fell like it makes me compare my life relationship and certain situation not good at all first time doing it let's see how it goes 😔 told my boyfriend and he's like why it's just the internet it's hard to make ppl understand that anything can trigger ur anxiety and depression their favorite line is don't think like that it's ur mind u can control how u feel smh if it were that easy
You’re so right. Social media is like a textbook place to feel really anxious and awful about yourself. So much of anxiety I believe is tacit often subconscious thoughts that we’re not good enough for some reason, and the inevitable comparing can drive this point home. I read an article where the author touches on these themes from medium.com. Check it out! medium.com/@davidlykhim/a-r...
Also, if he’s a good boyfriend or just even a generally thoughtful person, he’ll think on it a little and hopefully see what you’re talking about. If not, try showing him articles like the one I linked of people talking about their similar experiences with social media. You’re definitely not alone on this one, super common feeling among social media users. Sometimes I just need a break, and then come back when I feel I’ve had enough distance.
