How do you feel about Prozac?

Thank you I took Zoloft and it gave me horrible side effects

When I tried Prozac my son had to have brain surgery. It literally made me numb. Like if the house caught fire I wouldn’t care enough to leave numb. It helped me for a week or so and once I knew he was okay I threw that crap away! I like that I care. Meds effect everyone so differently though. It’s hard for me to say and that was at least 15 years ago. Just not for me although I wish I had a magic button I could push to feel numb as needed. You can’t really judge based on other people’s opinions since we are all so different. That’s hard. I didn’t think it was as widely used anymore. At least around my area. I could be wrong but don’t think so. Not sure. I want to be “Comfortably Numb” as Pink Floyd would say. I want normal reactions appropriate for the situation.

Years ago when my Dr. put me on prozac I was scared as I had been on Deserel which made me suicidal. For me the Prozac was great, minor side effects that went away very quickly. The sad part was I built up a tolerance in 10 years - then onto Zoloft which was OK also, until I built up a tolerance. Now I have been in a mess and fallen into a severe depression with horrific anxiety. My Dr. asked to do a test on me gensense, swab the inside of the mouth with cotton ball, send it to the lab, a few days later comes the result, for me it recommended Pristiq which is giving me no side affects. I am waiting for it to build up its force and get me out of this mess I am in. Hope this is of help to you, write us and let us know how you make out. We are here for you.
