Duloxatine side effects

I’m talking 120mg and was curious if anyone has had the same issues as I have.

My mouth is very dry, talking is terrible because of it. Secondly, constipation, and having a difficult time with hard stools.

Looking for any advice.

Thank you!!

I did take it for about a year. I did not have a problem with dry mouth, however I was somewhat constipated. At the time I did not connect this with duloxetine, but maybe there is a relationship.

Give it some time if you can tolerate the side effects, but my experience with duloxatine was a nightmare even I was patient with it for almost 5 weeks after that I couldn’t do it anymore, I switched back to Zoloft.

I was hoping by now the side effects would be lessened. My psychiatrist is trying a lower dose to see if that helps. I just went down from 120 mg to 90 mg.

120mg is the upper limit for Duloxetine, so it's good that your Dr. lowered the dose. Dry mouth and constipation are common side-effects.

The best thing to do would thus be to try natural ways to alleviate constipation:

Take care!

"My mouth is very dry"

Look into "dry mouth gel"

I've been using Biotene gel for dry mouth for over 20+ years. :)

I did have Biotene gel and it does with but not easy to use and explain when you’re trying to have a meeting or worse in an interview.

My psychiatrist lowered my dose to 90mg and that did the trick.

That's good to hear. :)

I'm not a fan of dry mouth either, but happy to hear any and all options/solutions to get rid of it. (for me, it's the gel)

I’m glad the gel works well for you.

I’m grateful that lowering the dosage helped and it is still helping with my mental health

I was drinking Gatorade too. I need to find a flavoring I can put in the drink that isn’t whatever colors you can’t use
