I have been on Paxil and klonopin for twenty years when I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I don’t think they are working to their full potential anymore, your thoughts?

Hi Down & Payton0625:

Hope you guys are doing well. Let me educate on these anti-depressants and the way your brain functions through these chemicals. In our brain there is one chemical which is responsible for making us feel happy called Dopamine. It releases whenever we feel happy and more specifically when we try to gratify our senses. Ex. Initially, you start boozing 1 pint of beer for that dopamine. When your body gets addicted to that 1 pint, it won’t be sufficient for you to get that kick. Then you start taking more number of pints to get that kick. It’s like you need more number of pints to have that same feeling which you’ve got initially. Here, your brain wants more dopamine to make you feel happy.

Similarly, when you start taking those anti-depressants you get that kick. Slowly, after using them over a period of time, that kick becomes normal. Your body becomes immune to those depressants. You want more dose of those depressing agents. Periodic usage of those agents can lose their power on you and you feel depressed again. You will be in cycle of making yourself more pleasurable at every time.

Instead of this, I suggest you to make your life better by counselling therapy. You can become absolutely fine and can attain the level of happiness through shifting your point of view on this life. I can educate you guys on different levels.

1.Understanding yourself

2.Understanding the way this society influencing on you

3.Understand the philosophy of this life.

4.Understanding how successful people thinks.

5.Finally, understanding the spiritual mind of human.

If you start educating yourself on those 5 aspects. Trust me, you will easily get out of those mental blocks without any depressants.

I can give counselling on those subjects. Probably, we can get over a call for this. I am dropping my personal email id here: psychologistacp.chandu@gmail.com. Please schedule an appointment with me if you really want to change your life.
