I am greatly suffering from PTSD and depression. Has anyone found any books to be helpful or meds that have worked well?

Thank you so much for your help
An easy read that came to mind is a book called The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. It was one of the first books I read when I finally decided to try and take care of myself (in a healthy way). It was also before I knew I had PTSD, but I have suffered from depression most of my life. The book doesn't really address the PTSD or depression, but it is very inspirational and helped me start to think differently, and live my life in a more healthy way.
As far as meds, that is something that is unique to each individual. Find a good and reputable psychiatrist to help you with that. I've had horrible side effects from every med I've tried. To the extent that I'm surprised that I'm still in this life. I eventually did a gene test, which helped show why my body does not do well with medication.
If I think of any more books I'll let you know.

Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate everything. I'm trying to get into a psychiatrist soon.
I know it's difficult. It took me years to find a good psychiatrist. I have horrible nightmares, night terrors, and sleep paralysis. I do take one med that helps for that (Prazosin aka Minipress). Hyper vigilant, anxiety, irritability, isolation, and anger keeps me exhausted. My depression and suicidal thoughts lasts longer than I feel like I can deal with some times. My mantra is that I'm going to get through this and I'll be better soon. Even though I know the good won't last, I also know that neither will the bad. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much..really helpful. Trying to stay hopeful
Claire weeks has audio books if you have audible. She talk you through things and it really helped me the most. Good luck
