Generalized anxiety disorder. major depression w/agoraphobia
Recently received this diagnosis but not treatment. Yet to schedule any interventions. Psychologist but no psychiatric doctor appointment.
Realizing I need to reach out to others but first I need to take care of me.
I have a routine everyday. I swim and walk. Maybe need to add some yoga or something. Just looking for suggestions.

Dear Lymon, it's great that u exercise! I'm glad u r reaching out. Taking baby steps is important but it depends on how debilitating your symptoms are. Sometimes just getting up for the day is hard. Do u have certain goals? I'm glad u know that u have to take care of yourself. Do u write or try doing art (like art therapy)? Hopefully this helps a little bit. I have anxiety and depression too so I'm taking these ideas from my own experience. I wish u the best!
Today was a good day. I had a friend to venture out with. I find it easier to when the local park is less occupied. In the past I did some art therapy. I keep an open mind. Thank you for your response.
Yoga has helped me tremendously. I also try and do some relaxation meditation videos on you tube. I do see a psychiatrist and go to therapy. Everyone is different so see if any of these may work for you.
I know that exercise seems to be the greatest help for me. I've struggled with depression and anxiety for years and I've been to therapy and I've been on medication. All that does help but the medication I was on seemed to loose its ability after a few years and I never could find anything else that worked for me so I quit taking them. I still have bad days, like today, but I also have great days. It seems to come in cycles and I can almost predict when it will happen but I still haven't quite figured out how to lessen it's affect on me.
