Is inappropriate sinus tachycardia life threatening? I was diagnosed with it and I am very worried.

No not at all life threatening. 'Sinus' means that your heart is beating completely normally i.e.: all electrical signals are normal. It is non-sinus rhythms that are dangerous.

The tachycardia just means that your heart rate is higher than expected. So you may have had a heart rate of say 150 at rest which the doctor would expect during exercise but not when resting. This is what the inappropriate means- your heart rate did not correlate with the activity you were doing. This itself is not dangerous. However speak to your doctor- dependent on how high your heart rate was they may wish to investigate further. If like me it was with in normal exercise limits (below 200) it is unlikely any action will be taken.

Source: Born with a congenital heart defect so spend longer having electrocardiograms than I care to admit.
