I have been experiencing a bout of depression for about 5-6 weeks now. I have gone through a similar period back about 5 years ago but the more I reflect on this I see lifelong patterns of both depression and anxiety. My single father was alcoholic and I felt near constant fear as a child. During my serious bout 5 years ago I began taking 5mg of an SSRI called cipralex and found good results... declared myself healthy and weaned off them. Two and a half weeks ago I was prescribed the same dose of the same SSRI hard to say if there is a change yet but does feel like light at the end of the tunnel.
Are others here on a similar SSRI? Thanks for any and all feedback.

Hi Amitrityline was always best for me; with the anxiety problem.
the best thing to do if, you find someting that works is, to stay on it
I have been on antidepressants since 1999 when I was 40 and I am now 58, there is no need to come off them; if you find they are not working then your doctor should increase the dose.
I have had some very nasty experiences in my life BUT I cant go into it-regreesion is to much for me.
Very Best Wishes PS I am a 58 yr old female in England ( Lancashire ) Chorley area
