Hello sneh. Talk with your doctor. Stopping antidepressants suddenly can have side effects and withdrawels.
Hi Snehh_sunshine,
Hopeless feelings are symptoms of depression. Stopping your antidepressant doesn't make sense right now. If you're still in your 1st 6 weeks of trying this antidepressant, then you may still get relief from it. It takes 4-6 weeks for it to fully work. If you're past your 1st 6 weeks, how about calling your prescribing doctor and telling him/her about your feelings of hopelessness and depression and asking if he/she will adjust or change your antidepressant to be more effective?
I can understand you don't want to be on a drug that's not working, but to be depressed and not be on any drug isn't a good option when there are so many types of drugs to choose from. Hopefully your Dr. is a psychiatrist because that's the Dr. most skilled at finding the right drug that's effective for your depression. This is what a psychiatrist does best and has had years of training and education to do. Hang in there. You are your best advocate and can get better by keeping your Dr. informed. Take care.
Hello SUZSE. I agree with you 100%. Sneh please don't just stop. Read SUZSE until You are encouraged. I've gone thru withdrawals more than once. Same reason you are considering stopping. I felt the medication wasn't working. Withdrawals is something indescribably horrible.
Talk to your Dr, sometimes they have no idea what you are feeling either. If they have never been depressed. I had that experience also. Keep a daily journal. It can be one word describing your mood. Take it to your appointments. It will get better. I'm out of the deep depression, I found the root cause.
Hold on
