I've become castrate resistant after almost 4 yrs. Will be starting chemo taxotere. Ask question on AI copilot. CR after lupron and zytiga metastatic. Effective for 50% of patients. That sucks

What do you mean by "effective"? It slows progression, increases survival, and prevents pain.

Good Question TA "effective" the way I interpret that only works in about 50% of men with my condition. Source of info was copilot AI. I had a port implanted will be starting taxotere soon. If it Slows progression, increases survival and prevents PAIN then that's good. Thanks for your response TA.

"works" is also an ambiguous term.

Short answer, from my perspective and understanding. "Achieve a desired outcome" That's the best I got. You may ask what is a desired outcome?🙂

However there are many treatments available and it makes sense to go with one that has the most effectiveness in the three ways you mention. And with fewer side effects. Chem o was expensive and did little for me with significant side effects. Not sue it was the best choice for me.

Wolverine, the only advice I can give you is this..'' Thrust your oncologist, he will point you in the best direction and give you the best advice and treatments''. We are only pure mortals in this journey and he has the training and experience to look after you. Be informed of all that is available and you can ask him or her ' What about this, what about that' and he or she can tell Yes or No. Hope this helps. rgds Peter
