Taxotere response

Have finished 6 sessions of Taxtere and response has been as follows:

Starting PSA: 30

then as follows after each session: 20, 12, 10, 7.9, 5.87, 5.75. Alt Phos has gone from 390 to 63.

Is this leveling off normal? Does it mean that Taxotere has stopped working? Any input is appreciated.

Might want to give it time. It took a year after finishing Taxotere for my PSA to bottom out (0.1).

What else are you doing/taking for your Pca. I am on xtandi after taxotere which dropped mine for another year+ to get to 0.12 average test.

Was on Zytiga and it brought my PSA down from 250 to 7 but then stopped working. Only on Lupron and Doctaxel now.

This looks like a good response. From what I know: taking Docetaxel when castrate resistant, you would continue until it either stops working or the side effects become intolerable. I think you'd want to look at radiographic progression in order to make that decision.

I noticed in another post that were said you were BRCA2 positive. That should make it possible for you take a PARP inhibitor for your next treatment.

These are things you can discuss with your doctor. Wishing you the best.

Doc did say a Parb inhibitor is next. So far side effects have been tolerable. Doc is saying maybe 10 treatments,

I went 9 cycles with xtani added after 4. Permanent neuropathy in hands and feet. Was aiming for 10 but side effects added up too much to continue.
