Jevtana prescribed until Pluvicto available to him

Just an update: My husband's PSA is over 215 as of two weeks ago and was scheduled for Pluvicto which has now been put on hold until production ramps up again. Spoke to RO last night and he said that they are hoping for production to increase within 3 months. In the meantime, he is recommending Jevtana to keep him safer until Pluvicto is available. He already had Zytiga, Xtandi, radiation, cryotherapy, Immunotherapy and Taxotere... running out of options but fortunately, he is still feeling pretty good considering all. After his mild stroke over Christmas, he did 40 Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber treatments and it seems to have helped his overall well-being and cognitive function. He pain level is much better too -- not sure if that is a coincidence but I think it was due to the HBO.

Will his Jevtana protocol include carboplatin?

I don't know -- it wasn't mentioned and I'm not sure what that is. PSA as of today is 273 - Starting Jevtana Friday morning -- praying that it helps lower PSA until he can get the Pluvicto treatment.

Carboplatin is a platinum based chemotherapy drug that some MO think makes Jevtana significantly more effective. How many Jevtana cycles are discussed?

Every 3 weeks until Pluvicto available or until there is significant improvement in the PSA level. Thank you for the info.

GTOGuy, I have been participating in a clinical trial at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. for just shy of two years now. There is an oral chemo component utilizing an experimental drug (Niraparib) along with a monthly infusion of Cetrelimab, which is an investigational immunotherapy drug given intravenously.

When I joined in this clinicial trial in June 2021, I was advised that it was the only offering in the United States. Since then, I was told that I am now the longest participating member after 24 cycles. I believe that the study group is currently under 100 participants, however don't quote me on that. Carboplatin was included for the first 6 month along with Cabazitaxel (Jevtana) during the induction phase. The NCT # is NCT04592237 and I just checked and it is in a recruiting stage.

Overall, my health has been fairly good following the induction phase and I have the energy to visit a fitness center 3x/week and once the weather warms in Michigan, I golf 3-4x/week as well. Bear in mind that I will be 59 in May and that this is my third clinical trial through MD Anderson. Last week my PSA was 12.1, however I am labelled as Agressive Variant Prostate cancer, stage 4 with two groups of metastases. One in my left supraclavicular lymph node and the other is retro-peritoneal near my aortic vein.
