My life has gotten much more complicated since Abiraterone suddenly quit working about 6 months ago

I just had the 4th of 6 Xofigo (Radium-223) injections last Wednesday. I feel like the pain from bone metastases is improving.

I have also undergone 15 External Beam Radiation Therapy EBRT treatments during the same period.

I had quite a bit of burn issues involving skin in and around the rectum, etc. It took about a month for the skin to return to normal.

I would have to say that I had a few more issues with EBRT than with Xofigo, but I am glad that both are being done.

The biggest problem right now is how to address a rise of PSA to over 800 since the Abiraterone quit working.

There may be some Docetaxel in the near future to take care of the rising PSA.

Eligard appears to be keeping the testosterone level completely under control.

Docetaxel and Provenge combine well with Xofigo.

I assume you are getting Zometa shots every 3 weeks.

Going with oral Fosamax for now. I had to stop taking Fosamax because I was having a lot of nausea problems due to viral Gastroenteritis. That now seems to be under control. I will restart again soon to see if I can tolerate it now.

As long as it's maintaining your BMD.

Bone density checks out OK at this point. We will be checking it again soon.

Have undergone ADT and then photon therapy. Initially Gleason was 9.5 before I knew what it meant and PSA was over 16. Stayed on ADT for 4 years but then PSA climbing again. Put on additional drug Xtandi. Worked for about 9 months and then PSA started to climb. Decided to help myself . pSA up to 8.7. Highly suggested I start chemo which I declined. With nothing to lose I tried other alternative treatments. Tried fenbenzadole and my PSA went down to 3.6 in two weeks and is down to 3.2 in another week. Take it for what it is worth, may not work for everyone, but for me it worked really well. No chemo for me and I am feeling well for my age. Love to all of you.
