Some good news!!

I do so appreciate when others post good news - we all learn form that, so here is the latest from me.

A quick recap: DX PCa, gleason4+5 jan 2000 with PSA=1000, started Zoladex and docetaxel (6 sessions)immediately, PSA steadily falling til july 2021 when castrate resistance kicked in. Starten on Xtandi 6 Okt with PSA at 4.7. Todays news is great. After 1 month of Xtandi my PSA is down to 1.0 - lowest yet. It seems that my PCa is very sensitive to PSA and therefore can be used as sensitive guage as to how things are going.

Heres the updated plot. Things work!!!

Wishing you all the best

Looking at your graph, I would think you were diagnosed in Jan 2019...am I reading the graph incorrectly?

Stoneartist in reply to

No - the dates at the bottom are day/month/year so the diagnose is after 12 dec 2019 and before 10 march 2020 - does that explain??

What do you mean by this then?

"A quick recap: DX PCa, gleason4+5 jan 2000 with PSA=1000"

Ah, yes - I am trying to learn the abbreviation language that so many use on this site - which causes me so many headaches when folks write stuff I dont understand. Its a resume of my past history with PCa - and you can read it in a more intelligible form in my member details

😀

I was making sure. That's some nice action to your treatments. I believe the chemo knocks out the really bad guys and the xtandi appears to be doing a good job on the remaining hormone sensitive cancer. Be nice to see you achieve undetectable. Best wishes to you.

Hello, The confusion is that in your post you write Gleason 4 + 5 in January, 2000 when I think you meant to say January, 2020. Getting 21 years out of Zoladex (goserelin) before starting Xtandi (enzalutamide) would put you in the medical record books. 😀

OOPS - sorry everybody - so true - should be january 2020 - maybe I have gotten some brain fog from Xtandi - thanks for pointing out the error

Let me tell ya brother . Six years ago there was a professor in England on adt that did a study how adt altered a mans sense of direction . He did studies in mazes . I used to be that macho guy never needing a map and f the gps . After a few years on Lupron and another I’d get lost in the back streets that I’ve know for years like the back of my hand . Now I follow the gps . My compass is askew ! 😂✌️

Thanks - and so to the next focus: - how long will Xtandi work?? - and in the meantime - life is great!!

in reply toStoneartist

Just ride it for all its worth . It could be years! Then if it fails there are four more to try …. Ride the Xtandi out! I’ve been on one similar ( tak-700) for over six years now . We can do better than any doctors propose! 👍

PleaseThink that it will last for many yrs . 🙏🤞🏼

Great to see that reversal, and now a new low Nadir of 1.0. If I was a Betting man, I’d think your next pull will be to a new low.Way to turn things around. The mind picks up on this positive energy and will give you a turbo charge to your treatment. Congrats,

Mike
