Adventures with Cabazitaxel

Hey gang,

Was supposed to begin the first of six Cabazitaxel sessions last Friday(the six Taxotere rechallenge failed) , but the pharmacy messed up the mixture and it got moved to today! Looked up the cost, and Kaiser wasted $7800 with that error.

Hoping the switch to Cabazitaxel does the job. Fingers crossed 🤞

MO said, if no PSA drop after two sessions, then may add Carboplatin.

Fasted two days prior. Took 10mg Prednisone, and will do that daily thr chemos. They had me take a Pepcid 40mg and Zyrtec 10mg this morning

I too fasted for all my Docetaxel infusions (8) but haven't with the Cabazitaxel/Carboplatin infusions I'm on now. Side effects of Cabazitaxel for me are less taxing than Docetaxel was.

Good luck to you! IMHO, Cabazitaxel produced less side effects than the Taxotere years ago.
