To all the members that are BRCA And have Metastatic disease. I have Mets to my bones and lymph glands. Started olaparib Eight months Ago. In August. My PSA went from 9 to 70 over 3 months. Started olaparib. PSA’s have gone steadily down at the present they are at 20. And lymph nodes have shrunk approximately 15%. Hopefully The cancer does not figure out how to get around it. You never know keep fighting.

Great response! So happy it is working for you! My husband, also BRCA2 has been on olaparib for a little over 2 years. His PSA went down to .5 and stayed there for over a year and a half. It is slowly rising, and is currently 6.5. His oncologist added Lupron again about 6 months ago when it started to rise and that has helped.

Any side effects to the PARP inhibitor?

Did Dr discuss the Pca’s development of resistance to the PARP inhibitor over treatment time and any related strategies?

Hi Goldberg,

Glad to hear this is working for you. I believe my next treatment option will be oliparib. Are you in a trial? How are the side effects? Just wondering what is in store for me.

Thanks

Kevin

I am not in a trial. Using the drug off label it’s blowing a hole in my retirement fun. Cost is 47,500 per month after the donut hole it’s 760 per month. If anyone knows how to get a cheaper let me know. But it’s workingAfter Zytega And Xtandi gave out. Attitude is fight on It is worth it as long as my quality of life remains good to fair.
