Mitch had to drop out of the trial today. His PSA jumped 51 points and is now 127. His scans showed progression in his bones but thankfully no cancer in his organs. Now he will start on Zytiga with prednisone. Disappointed this trial didn't work for him. But we will fight on.

Each treatment is like playing poker blindfolded. High hopes are sooner or later gone with the rising PSA. I know your disappointment as my husband was actually brought to his knees in the examining room by a clinical trial drug doing more damage than good. He is a scientist and understood the risks and wanted to help advance knowledge of treatment options. He is continuing to try new, off-label treatment to find what works against his mutations. Kudos to your husband for participating in a clinical trial. I pray that he finds a clinical trial that works for him.
I hope he does well on Zytiga. My husband did very well on Zytiga + Lynparza for over 1-1/2 years. Gave the PC a one two punch. Life was almost completely 'normal'. Does your husband have any genetic markers to justify trying a parp inhibitor?
