Would anybody know if you could take CABAZITAZEL and still continue taking ZYTIGA, LUPRON and ZOMETA?

Two-part question:

First part of the question was: Question regarding CABAZITAXEL (also called: JEVTANA) and if one can be on this chemotherapy drug treatment while also on a combination of other drug treatments such as: (2) ZYTIGA, (3) LUPRON and/or (4) ZOMETA? In other words, would anybody know if you could combine CABAZITAZEL with these other treatments?

Second part of the question was: I’m someone who has already reached the stage of being Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer, I very much still want to qualify for drugs like CABAZITAXEL if I can be. Does anybody know if being mCRPC disqualifies one from being a candidate for still doing CABAZITAXEL as an option for their treatment. I know someone else who is taking it, but, I know every situation is different, and for this other person who I know is taking it, I don’t know the specifics of his situation exactly, so I didn’t know if he’s roughly in the same boat as me.

Hi, I have Metastatic Prostate Cancer and I’ve been on a treatment regimen of ZYITGA (250 mg daily), LUPRON (45 mg every 24 weeks), and ZOMETA (4 mg every 12 weeks) and, I have, as of today, yet to have viewed my latest PSA results, but, with that said, my last handful have been trending badly for me (10/16/18) = 0.2, (2/11/19) = 2.6, (4/9/19) = 7.4, (6/12/19) = 16.2, (7/11/19) = 23.2, (9/?/19) ??.?

I was hoping to add an additional drug to my current treatment, one that might be able to slow down the rise in my PSA, or possibly stop the rise in my PSA, or even more optimistically somehow potentially lower my PSA (i.e., decrease my PSA).

In the past, right after my first Chemotherapy treatment, I spent over a year with an undetectable PSA just from Lupron and after that period was over, I was put on drugs like Casodex until I was refractory on that one and then Zytiga and for a moment on Xtandi and then right back on Zytiga.

But, at the moment, my last handful of PSA results have been going in a bad trend. Please, if anybody knows if one can be on CABAZITAXEL while also on a combination of other drug treatments such as ZYTIGA, LUPRON and/or ZOMETA? In other words, would anybody know if you could combine CABAZITAZEL with the other treatments mentioned?

Thank you.

This should be a question for your doctor, but chemotherapy is given with ADT drugs.

thanks anyways, I just watched a youtube video about it, someone suggested that helped a little that suggested that zyita and cabazitaxel can be taken together without there being worries of toxicity or any other adverse drug interactions. youtube.com/watch?v=9CKF5gC...

If the Zytiga has stopped working, there is no reason to continue to keep taking it...That's how your insurance company will look at it. They may balk at paying for two expensive treatments concurrently. Lupron will continue for the duration...

Jevtana is only approved for mCRPC. It seems that Zytiga is no longer working for you. You would want a bone scan/CT to confirm that. But if so, why continue Zytiga? Lupron is always continued. Zometa seems to improve survival if combined with Celebrex, and should be continued if your DEXA scan shows low bone mineral density.

Thanks. first off, as you probably gather, I am mCRPC. My PSA has been rising on Zytiga, but it is, as someone as put it, a rather slow-rising PSA as opposed to a very fast rising PSA within the time period of being on Zytiga. (But, Zytiga is no longer keeping me at a PSA of 0.1 undetectable like it originally was for the first roughly half a year when I first went on it.) I have had both a bone scan/CT to confirm that. I guess we were continuing Zytiga while waiting to consider what to "ADD" to my treatment regimen as the drug to actually lower my PSA (i.e., Jevtana/Cabazitaxel). Ideally, I want to add another drug, like Jevtana/Cabazitaxel, to my current treatment regimen. I don't want to wait around or be tentative or timid about my Prostate Cancer. As for the other 2 things. I assumed I was going to continue Lupron, I just hoped there wasn't going to be any toxicity issues or drug interaction issues between Jevtana/Cabazitaxel & Lupron and if there were, I had heard of alternatives to Lupron such as Firmagon and others but that was only if there were drug interaction issues. And same with Zometa. I prefer to continue Zometa as I think I need it moving forward with my ongoing bone health. So, again, my question, still REMAINS RELATIVELY THE SAME : Would anybody know if you could take CABAZITAZEL/JEVTANA and still continue taking ZYTIGA, LUPRON and ZOMETA? to treat my mCRPC and, hopefully lower my PSA?

fyi, I recently found this youtube video link from a eCancer conference back in 2015 at ASCO GU regarding how Cabazitaxel and Zytiga can be taken together by Prostate Cancer patients. It sounds from the video like they possibly can. But, I was wondering if anybody else agrees with me. The link to the video is here: youtube.com/watch?v=9CKF5gC... , (safe video, it's just a video from Youtube)
