My son's new doctor is reevaluating him bcus she notices that he might actually have a mild case of autism instead of ADHD. I did my own research and noticed that both Asbergers and ADHD have a lot of the same symptoms. My son is most of the time in his own world, he has outburst when it's time to transition or if the routine is shifted, he also only pays attention to subjects that interest him and avoids all else, and of course his hyper activity. Has anyone else's doctor mentioned the same? Also, my private insurance does not cover mental health and his doctor wants me to put him in behavioral therapy so the therapist can also have an input on whether it is one or the other. I live in Jacksonville, Fl, does anyone know of any programs that I can apply for that will help me with his therapy since our private insurance is out of the picture?
