Hi eveyone,

In my first post "A work in progress" I talked about discovering the 1,000,000 step challenge that is set between 1st of July to September 30th ... So 92 days to complete the challenge.

I am now two weeks in and this is my progress so far:

Steps w2 = 155,956.

Distance walked = 131 Km

Hours walked = 26.4

Brisk walking = 1050 mins (17h30)

Calories 9,478 kcal

I have now completed 297,887 steps since 1st July and still on target.

There were just a few niggles this week mainly a tight left hamstring Saturday 13th and still there today ... it's not painful really. I would say that I am just aware of it. I visited a couple of National Trust houses this week (Packwood & Baddesley Clinton) they were splendid and good motivation to get out and walk somewhere new.

I hope all of you are enjoying your own challenges and having fun with it.

I need to go and do my evening walk of 12,500 steps while the sun is shinning (is that how it's spelt???) ... whilst the sun is still there

Alan

We are in swapped locations... Baddesley and Packwood are my old stomping grounds (although getting there was always like the Bermuda Triangle somehow!) Glorious places for walking.

I am a fan of evening walks too... have been enjoying the welldressings over the past few weeks.

The close family are well into the folklore of the Derbyshire dales and villages so much so that I am often badgered into attending the local events. I do though recognise the skill and devotion the villagers put into the occasion. It really is amazing. One family member is pivotal in the appearance (she does pretty much all of the assembly work) of the Well Dressing.

I heading back up home in a couple of weeks and looking forward to doing some dales exploration - Millers Dale is a firm favourite and a visit to Thorpe Cloud will be on the agenda.

Great tips for location! I might just add both to my walking bucket list! I live not too far away. Happy walking!
