#Photowalk Challenge Mar/Apr

A 20k hike around beautiful Skipton in Yorkshire left our hardy walking group very soggy with squelchy feet 😂. We did a steep hill climb, took in gorgeous views and had a lunch stop before slipping and sliding down the very muddy hill then we found the flooded paths. We had all the right gear on but the pathways were flooded and with no other way round we had to wade through them with water at calf height and drowning our waterproof walking boots 🙈. We were about 4k from the end so trudged on. Back to the coach to change our footwear then on to a cafe for a hot chocolate and a large slice of carrot cake ☺️. I’ve been hiking for around 20 years and never encountered that before. It hasn’t put me off though.

I guess you just had to grit your teeth and plunge on through! Thank goodness for a change of footwear!

…sounds like you deserved that hot chocolate and cake…hope you had extra marshmallows and cream on the chocolate

my water photo looks like a dribble compared to yours. It’s a wonder no ducks in there. It’s a long way back if I had to go back, I think I would have done the same as you waded, but it would have been up to my knees being 4 ft 11.
