#Photowalk Challenge June/July... Ants and Jelly...

[Oldfloss]

A warm up walk, before a lovely 5K run, this morning... and spotted this fellow up to some ant-type antics.... on what seemed to be, very Autumnal tinted leaves . Strangely, he seemed to be the only ant there.

The day was already warming up and there seemed to be a real dearth of animal life around!

Pausing to tie my shoe laces later, on the sea front... I noticed in the sea below,,, a shoal of Jelly fish... they were everywhere... The beach has had them now for many weeks... and although beautiful they are keeping the holiday makers away!

The Lion's Mane variety especially...

I was glad to be on dry land...

On our walk today (in the wood and hills) I saw several different butterflies, bees on the heather, an insect of some sort and 🐜 but all moving too quickly to get a photo 😂

I think our critters were still sleeping...! You have had a lovely walk. Nature is truly amazing x

I shall give them a wide berth...Some, UK ones are pretty harmless, but some not so,,, and of course folk can have sever reactions.. ! I have being stung , as a child.. trod on one and sat on one! The Lion's Mane can be nasty as can the Portuguese Man o' War...

I will not be winning there at all ..although my local swimming group were in there as normal!

My daughter was stung by one when she was young but that was in France.

It would put me off going in the water!

Jellyfish... yes not fun to go swimming with!

It was large!!It was!

I wouldn't go swimming whilst there are jellyfish!...My run was very slow but fun...!

So many small ones, too, floating around , just like little creme caramels with tentacles... ! There were a few runs back, a load of HUGE ones washed up on the far beach... very scary looking too, So sad to see them, washed up and beached... when they are so elegant in the water...

Nature is truly wonderful.

Well done . Your photos are good but a wide berth of jelly fish. Nasty stings. Wish my critters would sleep or if I could see some and get my photos as well. Quite a lack this year. Must be heat.

I think they are napping ! My walk today, they all seemed to be hiding!
