Have been fast walking for 20 mins every day for many years, but recently had a heel problem which put me off the road for about 3 months, Finally back to near normal, so nice to be out and about.

Thank you for your support, your efforts dwarf my meager stumbling 's. I wish you success for the future.

Thank you. I remember my first walk out after surgery, I managed 7 mins and it was a struggle. It all starts with the first steps. 😀. Rfc. X

I had Plantar Fasciitis last year and it was awful. I have to walk for work, I am a nurse on my feet all day. There were some days I thought I would die. Slowly I was able to rehab with good shoes, some nice inserts I found, ice, and stretches for my feet. Now I watch for any little twinge, lol. I am glad you are back on your walking routine. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the support, it all came as a surprise, we easily take our health for granted. I am getting on with the inserts ok, but now need bigger shoes to accommodate them and my feet!

You could try shoes with memory foam then you don't need the inserts, and there are compression inserts I wear at night, I can't remember exact name of them, but I can look for the amzon link if you would like. They can be worn in shoes too, or just around the house. I found them better because they gave better support with high instep like I have. Compression socks are also very comforting for painful feet. I found the stretches, you can find them on youtube to work the best.

Thanks Melissa,

As you may have guessed I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to this so your help is really appreciated. Yes I would really appreciate the link for the compression for around the house. The inserts also compensate for the fact that I stand slightly askew and I don't think the memory foam will help that? I will have a look on Utube for the exercises. Again thank you

These are the ones I used amazon.com/JERN-Cushioned-C... There are others as well. If you walk on the sides of your feet there are corrective shoes for that, but I think they are pretty expensive and may need to be described by a Podiatrist

Thanks Melissa,

I have ordered the cushioned supports. No I don't walk on the sides of my feet, its more about weight distribution and it was a Podiatrist that made the inserts, but I may well try some Sketcher shoes with the memory foam inserts. I have just found a youtube video that gives you stretching exercises for the calves which I will try. You really have been most helpful and I hope that your PF stays away.

Thanks, me too! Look for the video with the stretches for the feet too. They are by a Physical Therapist and they really help to strengthen the muscles and tendons in the feet. Best wishes on your journey, and I love Sketchers!
