The App is unstable as I find it fails every few weeks and just goes into a loop without giving results. It then has to be reloaded thus losing all history. Annoyingly it seems to do it on a day when I have walked over 15,000 steps.
I wish the programmers would correct this tedious fault.

I haven’t had this issue so it is not universal. If I forget to update it on any day then that day’s data is lost from the record, but app carries on working the next day. It must be annoying tho because having a 30 day record is a great incentive to keep going.
I am sorry you have this issue. Typically it happens when you are connected to a wifi network where you have no right to roam. For example last week I was at St Pancras station in London and my phone connected to the network automatically but I had not logged in, so my phone could not connect to the internet. The problem in these cases is that the app receives information to be connected to the network but not information that it has no right to access the internet. So it just waits. It is out of our control as that is when it connects to Google Fit, so it is external to the app. We have no way to fix it, unfortunately. Apologies.
The App has failed again this evening after 25 days. I have not been automatically linked in to anyone else’s internet. I have been walking (10,500 steps) between travelling on the tube and the train mostly without 4G access on the transport but that is a common situation for me.
Thanks I have passed your message to the iOS lead developer. He said that next week PHE will start rolling out the new version which is completely reimplemented and hence will not present hopefully the same issue
The 2-3 week period is about as long as it works for me, too. Every 2-3 weeks I have to delete it from my i-phone and then re-load it. It then runs properly for a week or so, then slowly and sporadically for a fortnight....then it stops completely! Why can't this be fixed?
