I’m sick of being ill this year. So I sit here wanting to get out but not feeling up to it.
I have been having trouble with my energy lately and I put it down to getting over a rotten cold and sinus infection. Last week I came to conclusion that it was going on too long so went to speak to my Gp as I was starting to get a little thing with chest palpitations as well. I thought it was an electrolyte imbalance. I have to be cautious after donating a kidney to MrRfc last year so I went for a check up.
24 hours later I got a call from my Gp. Wow what a service on the NHS. My thyroid was totally out. I have medication for hypothyroid but I am totally over medicated and am now hyperthyroid so heart issues, joint pains and not sleeping to name a few.
My start to the new year and exercise will have to be a be reduced until the meds adjust as my body is a the top of its energy limit just getting up and moving.
Hopefully it won’t take too long to sort itself out.
So if anyone can do a couple extra steps for me I would be greatful 😀
Have a happy healthy New Year

Oh Rfc, so sorry you're not feeling up to par, but thankfully you went to the doctor and had a speedy diagnosis! So, an enforced little holiday it is for you! I hope you feel better soon!
Thank you. I think I will feel better soon, I hadn't realised how far down I had got. Just goes to show you can’t see stuff in front of your nose sometimes. ☹️.
Thank you. I still can’t believe it took 24 hours on the nhs, but saying that the results were really really bad, chance of a heart attack bad ☹️. Thyroid meds can be dangerous at those levels.
I’ve always liked reading your posts. Sorry to hear about the vagaries of treatment that are affecting you. Docs still haven’t figured out that one med can cure something but cause something else - or they don’t tell us!! Wishing that things look up for you in the new year and you’re pepped up. Love, Lakshmi
Thank you, I think this one was a bit down to me. Usually if I don’t feel right the first thing I do is check my thyroid meds. I got so caught up in other things it slipped my mind and I let things slide. Hehe won’t be doing that again. 😀.
