Shaking it up a bit.

Yesterday I did my 5km run and walk at the same time. I set out for my run then after 5km transitioned into solid walking. I covered 18.5km and had a total of 26,060 steps yesterday. Getting ready for my second and last half marathon of the year on 20th May. That’s one of the things I love about exercise you can make it fit in with you, however you want it to.

Gosh Rfc you are really training hard for half marathon number 2! Yesterday's run/walk is truly impressive - I hope the feet are bearing up! ;)

I went out with, bodyglide rubbed on. my feet and £12.00 😳😳😳😳. pair of no blister socks, nearly 99% no blisters. It was difficult to tell, as the ones from the other week have not completely healed but at least no more 😀. I have the molseskin to try as well. The soles of my feet get sore, I am not sure what I can do with that, I think that is just me, sensitive feet. It starts around 7km, I’ve been doing this for four years now and my feet never seem to get used to it.

With all this attention hopefully they'll start behaving this year!:)

Tincture of Benzoin is supposed to be a good treatment for blisters and for toughening the skin on your feet. It's good for getting stuff to stick to your skin if it's sore too. May help the moleskin pads to stick?

Thank you for that, interesting I will have a look into it. Hehe at this rate I’m going to have to get up really early to prepare my feet before my next half marathon, but it will be worth it.

Oh, to have your energy! Ha, ha!

If you do try it be warned as it stings a bit.

Or maybe that's because I used it in my stomach?

I remember reading that the US Army use it for blisters. They drain the blister and inject the space with the tincture. 🤢

Seems a bit extreme to me...

Wow RFC. That is an epic journey. I love the idea of mixing things up. I find some folks get hung up on 'rules' (like if you're running you can't include walking bits), but the sooner you let go of rules and expectations, the world opens up to all sorts of fun possibilities.

Hehe I have always been known for ditching the “rules” a bit. I love to just have fun with exercise 😀.

Thank you 😀

Hey there Rfc, well done and it's great to change exercise as it makes it so much better and means you don't give up. I love the way you change the rules, good on you. :)

I have been on my exercise bike a lot this past few months because of the weather, as well as doing weights, physio and tummy exercises. I don't mind the exercise apart from the exercise bike, I do HITT training on it, but I do get bored quite often but I haven't given up as I feel so good for doing it. When the weather is dry though I get out and power walk, that is my favourite exercise of all time, I love it.

I love the time outdoors, I think exercising outdoors just feels so much better, hehe I used to use an exercise bike but I would get so bored so I used to turn up the music and dance with my arms while cycling. I’m sure it worked my core more 😉 but It definitely boosted my mood.

I agree with you totally as the outdoors makes you feel so much better and what a fabulous idea to turn up the music and shake around a bit with your arms, very good core exercise there. ;)

Thank you. The weather has been terrible for going out lately, I really am hoping Spring will bring better weather for all of us. I can imagine after a hip replacement ice would be worrisome.
