It was a warm, sunny day that turned rainy in the late afternoon. Rain, especially that of moderate intensity, is almost always needed in California. Pictured: Three hardy, healthy plants in our backyard.

Your posts do make me homesick for Africa! I lived there for 40 years - I can smell the rain falling on hot land!

Very interesting. Where in Africa? I have not had an opportunity to go there. Some day, may be.

I lived in South Africa (from the Cape to the far eastern transvaal and just about everywhere inbetween!), Bophthatswana, and Swaziland. My last home before coming back to the UK was Port Elizabeth - I'm told it's very like San Francisco!
