Who has been out recently?

We have had a little break in the weather here so it was nice to get out without the cold wind today. Has your weather been better or worse for walking today?

Hi Realfoodieclub, well the weather here is a bit wet and windy but I managed to get out after work for half an hours brisk walk while there was a break in the rain. Topped up my steps and managed to get the heart rate going, then a nice healthy dinner. It's been a good day today hope yours has too.

Well done for getting out there in the break, sounds like you had a really positive day. I managed a little walk out today as well, I am trying to do a daily get my muscles moving walk, had to wait in for a phone call for my Dad yesterday so missed it, it felt extra good to get out today. 😀.

Hi Rfc - I also managed to get out today! The sun was shining and the wind had calmed considerably, so I did my 3 brisk walks - maybe not quite as brisk as usual, but faster than my norm! I'm glad you got out too - when you're used to going out daily it's hard not to, especially when you'd hoped to be in hard training by now. Take care Rfc x

Well done for getting out and get a bit of sun. I think a little bit of variety is good too. In running you have a long run/ easy distance - Tempo /fast. And recovery/ slow. I can’t see why we can’t have the same in walking.

Ah, I'm stalling out on my outdoor activities RFC, walking, running - anything. We hit another cold spell, -17C this morning though it's warmed up a bit.

Generally I can manage the winter, but I think I've hit the end of my patience with it this year, we are snowier and colder than average. And it's looking to be a busy workweek so I'm not sure I can sneak out for a lunchtime walk. Weekend looks good though, so maybe I can do my penance then.

-17. Brrrrrrrr, I have never in my life known those sort of temperatures. I Think I would be sitting in front of the fire not moving. 😀. Hope it eases up for you soon.

I've got a daily dog walk as my Lent task, so far so good. Last night because I'd had other things to do during the day (including a swim) it didn't happen till the evening. Just a turn around the park but so mild, no gloves or coat needed.

Well done with your daily walks and swim. They say we have Siberian winds coming next week so I am all for making the most of the nice weather while we can
