Hi. I’m new to the group. Been doing the “5000” steps per day programme for about a year, now switching to Active 10. Have been diagnosed with spontaneous DVT and clots have occurred twice in 12 months despite my 5000 steps programme. Hence the change in routine.very frustrating!!

Hi HennieR, welcome to the forum! How very frustrating for you to keep getting DVTs! I had one after a long haul flight about 9 years ago and it really affected my life for more than a year, so I can only imagine how you must be feeling! But I'm glad you've found us - many of us here have health problems and on the other hand there are those of us who power walk and even do walking marathons. No matter which category someone fits into, everyone is very supportive and encouraging here!
Hi there and welcome to our friendly forum. I can imagine recurrence of the DVT’s has been very frustrating. Well done on keeping up with your 5000 steps for so long that is a great achievement. With the Active 10 build up slowly and feel comfortable with your pace before you move it up a notch. We will be here to support you.
Welcome to the group and happy walking.
Sorry to hear what happened to you and must be very frightening. I hope your doctor has given you an alternative exercise to help you. Good Luck. Linda
