Late walk!

Went out at about 3pm to walk today - I had to give myself a stern talking to as I REALLY wanted to stay in my house in the warm and watch the snooker! I felt so much more energised when I got home, I'm really glad I went out. AND to top it all, I managed 2200 steps! After doing only one walk in 4 weeks I'm absolutely chuffed to bits! I wasn't exhausted and now, nearly 5 hours later, my back and knees are still totally mobile, so all's good! My aim is to walk 3 times a week and I'm planning to walk down to my local coffee shop for a posh coffee on Saturday (3rd walk this week) - that will clock up 2500 steps, which is the best I've done this year! Having a break for coffee in the middle gives me the confidence to walk back home. So for anyone else out there who, like me, can't ever imagine doing the recommended 10 000 steps, we're all different and our lesser goals are just as important to US! Maybe by this time next year I'll reach the dizzy heights of 3000 steps! lol!

Terrific, I shall think of you when I am in the same position, and go walking leaving my cosy cave.

Mmm. I love the idea of a walk to the cafe for a fancy coffee. Great to take a little rest in there to re-energize for the way home.

When I go out with MrRfc it always has a posh coffee in the walk. It is a great rewards. Well done on the steps. It is sooooooo hard to get out in this weather. I had my race walking session last night and felt like I could fall asleep in the car on the way there but like you so energised after I finished. Enjoy your coffee tomorrow.
